b1t-ninja
I make fast, utility-based apps for macOS and the terminal, mainly with Swift, Rust, Metal and WGSL. Lately: mostly peer-to-peer networking.

About me
Hi, I'm Nico, the guy behind b1t-ninja. I studied CS and I've been writing software for a while now. In my downtime I like going fishing and walking my dog!
I strive to create beautiful and functional software that stays out of your way. Scroll down and check out what I've been working on.

02 Menu-bar app · Swift

Whoosh
Throw files from one Mac to another, across the desk or across the world, straight from the menu bar.
- Macs nearby just show up; anyone else is one code away
- Hit a shortcut and the drop shelf pops up right under your pointer
- Your chosen name, picture and color travel with you to every Mac nearby
- Zenitsu's Thunder Breathing crackles round the window the whole time
SwiftUI · Liquid GlassPeer-to-peerMetal shaders
Go on, it's the real panel, running as a demo. Drop a file, pick a Mac, or switch to Anywhere for a code. Your files are never uploaded or sent anywhere: they don't leave your browser.
03 Menu-bar app · Swift

Shikon
Your secrets, sealed inside the Shikon no Tama: a pocket Keychain vault that lives in the menu bar.
- Summon the jewel from anywhere with a global hotkey
- Strike it with Kagome's arrow and it shatters open into your vault
- Find anything with / and copy with a single key; the clipboard keeps it concealed
- CSV in, CSV out; everything else stays in the macOS Keychain
- Every reveal gets a soul-collector flyby
Swift 6 · SwiftUI · AppKitKeychainMetal stitchable shaders
Take the shot: click the jewel. Inside, / searches, a row's letter copies it, the eye reveals it and the shard seals it all back up. The secrets are fakes that vanish when you leave.
Opt-in: your camera turns into a pixel kitty right here in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
04 Terminal app · Rust
Hakuterm
A chat room in your terminal: peer-to-peer video, voice and chat, with no accounts and no servers to run.
- Host a room, share an
hk1_…invite, and peers connect directly to you - Video calls drawn right in the terminal
- Vim-style editing and
:emoji:shortcodes, for the vibes - Room-wide effects everyone sees: fireworks, digital rain, Hollow Purple, Black Flash
RustBevy ECS · RatatuiPeer-to-peer
Click the screen and say hi. Enter sends, Esc drops into normal mode (j/k scroll, i to type again) and : runs commands: try :fx purple, :fire: or :video. The monitor turns to follow your pointer.
